Gonorrhea is more difficult to treat patients with sickle cell disease, but patients with sickle cell anemia are at increased risk of serious infections with gonorrhea. Gonorrhea is treated with antibiotics if appropriate antibiotics, then chose the treatment is effective even if you have sickle disease, or are not. Patients with sickle cell anemia may develop generalized disease that can cause rashes and joint problems. If gonorrhea is not treated properly, it could spread through the blood, resulting in the joints and skin rash.
